Why Transflective Technology?
Excellent Sun Readability
With built-in reflector, transflective TFT utilizes the sunlight as an external light source instead of fighting the sun. The brighter the ambient light, the clearer and sharper the image becomes.
Low Power
In outdoor environments, you don’t need to max out the brightness. In fact, you can turn the backlight off completely with reflective mode and reduce power consumption by up to 90%.
All-Weather, All-Lighting Versatility
It combines Transmissive (backlight) and Reflective (ambient light) technologies. Indoors/Dark: The backlight ensures vivid colors and brightness. Outdoors/Bright: The reflective layer ensures high contrast.

Transflective Display Principle
Core Structure: Half Window, Half Mirror
In Transflective Display, the microscopic structure of each individual pixel is physically divided into two distinct zones: Transmissive Area (This part is transparent, allowing the backlight to pass through like a window) and Reflective Area:(The bottom of this section is coated with a high-reflectivity metal film, acting like a tiny mirror). This unique “Half Window, Half Mirror” structure is the physical foundation that allows the display to adapt perfectly to all lighting environments.
Working Modes: Adapting to Ambient Light
- Outdoor Bright Light: Reflective Mode on; Utilizes sunlight or strong ambient light and the backlight can be turned off completely to achieve low power consumption.
- Indoor/Dark Environment: Transmissive Mode on, Utilizes the screen’s built-in LED backlight.
- Semi-Bright Environment: In conditions such as cloudy days or indoor offices, both the Transmissive and Reflective areas work simultaneously. The backlight and ambient light combine to ensure optimal screen visibility and contrast.
